I think he’d say that no matter what you do, you’re going to have ‘what if’s in your life. What if you had stayed with him? What if you had broken it off? No matter how much you love someone, if the relationship is making you miserable then it’s not worth it. He may or may not change, but you can’t delude yourself into thinking that you’re going to be the one to change him. If you do stay with him, you’ll just have to accept the way he is.
